Rubber boots...or not?

I never knew rubber boots can be so fashionable until I came across Plueys. I always relate rubber boots with the yellow boots that PCK wears.

Plueys was the brainchild of a young woman and they are made from natural rubber. The amazing thing about Plueys is that it can be worn anywhere - when in the gardens, went waddling through some swamp or mud, when taking a stroll in the rain, or any occassion which you can think of! I am oh-so tempted to get one!

Some of my favourite Plueys :

With boots like Plueys, I wish everyday is a rainy day!

Drawings

I love kids' drawings...they are so pure. From top to bottom: Roo, mummy & daddy. I am not sure why I am round, but I guess she was just drawing what she sees. But I think I look friendlier than daddy :)

Mother's Day

Everybody was sick over the weekend. Mum is sick, and so is Tania...she is having high fever , which started on Sat - not much of a celebration for Mother's Day. Sigh...hope everybody gets well soon.

On another note, I am maidless now. Sent maid back on Sat...was tiring having to do all the housework, but it is all worthwhile as I can ensure every single corner is spot clean. And a good work out too!

Sundays

I dread Sundays...simply because it is the last day of the weekend. And it is also a day which I have lots to do, from waking up at 7am to the market, to church, to cooking dinner, and to spending time with hubby and Tania.

I wish I can have one Sunday which I do not have the above routine. Just to recharge my battery.

Labour Day

What did u do on labour day?

After breakfast today, I thought I would want to check out some kids' furniture at Harvey Norman's in Ikano. But the traffic going in to Ikano was so bad that I decided to turn back to 1 U. Well, not much better as there was an appearance by some band by the name of Tokio something...and they have also cordoned off an area for some concert tonight. Anyway, the question which came to my mind is this : just how much time do M'sians spend in shopping malls? The roads leading to shopping malls like 1 U, Ikano, The Curve, Mid Valley, etc are always jammed on the weekends...u know, it would be good if we all can spend some time in the parks, having picnics, etc....but I guess our super hot weather makes it impossible for us to do so. Hence, the throng of people crowding the shopping malls.

And talking about global warming - air conditioning is supposedly one of the contributors of greenhouse emission. How on earth are we supposed to reduce the usage of air conditioning when the weather is so freaking hot in this part of the world?

Elomet

I went to the skin specialist in DU today. I was having bad breakouts since a month ago. I am not sure what exactly caused it, whether it is the new moisturiser that I used or the oil free foundation that I am using. Why oil free, u may ask - well, yours truly bought the foundation thinking it was my usual moisturising foundation. Only realised it was oil free after I reached home. Anyway, I have since given away the moisturiser, but my breakouts are getting worse.

Doc told me that my skin is extremely dry and it is damaged!!! He said he could see fingernail marks on my skin! Oh gawwwwdddd.....anyway, it is still "salvageable", he said...so, he prescribed me some "Elomet". And some cleanser, moisturiser plus sun block which I should use diligently for the next few weeks. All these cost me RM461!!! But the doc, I must say, is the friendliest skin specialist I have ever met...at least, he took the time to explain to me the condition of my skin. Elomet is supposed to be good for eczema - I have used it on my daughter when she had eczema and it worked wonders! But since it is a steroid based cream, it is supposed to be used only with doc's or the pharmacist's prescription.

I am supposed to use Elomet for 1 week, afterwhich the redness of my skin should go down. Now, let's hope that it will work wonders for my skin too. Lesson learned? Never take a bad breakout lightly!

Massage

I visited The Club @ The Saujana couple of weeks ago, and one of the rooms, ie The Saujana Room has its own massage bed! Now, talking about massages and spas, I am in desperate need of one. My whole body is aching, especially my shoulders and neck. I look terrible, with dark rings under my eyes and break outs which never seemed to go away. Think I will pay the neighbourhood massage parlour a visit this weekend for a few hours of bliss.

A sick child

Tania got admitted last Tues due to high fever and fits. It was a scary moment, as both me and hub were not home at that time. Mum called with the maid screaming over the phone - I panicked as I did not know what was happening. Luckily, our neighbour was around. She explained the situation to me and then helped rushed her to the hospital. I called hub after that, and by the time I got to the hospital, her fever had gone down and they have taken her blood for testing. They did the H1N1 swab as well.

She was admitted for 2 nights for observation. Thank God the test for H1N1 came out negative. However, her white blood cells were so high - the doctor informed us that Tania has sinus infection. We were told to limit the use of mozzie sprays and air fresheners in the house, as well as no smoking in front of her. No more processed food as well.

She is now back home and went back to school on Mon. Still on antibiotics, but we have to be very careful of the environment from now onwards. We will probably do away with the carpet in the hall, and for our cat, JJ, we have to make sure that the house is spot clean of her fur. Danders could be an issue as it is invisible to the human eye.

Just wondering - is it really the environment that is so polluted or is it that the immune system of the kids now are not as strong? I guess we can never be sure.

Bikinis galore

I am a die hard bikini fan...I used to flip through foreign magazines when I was 12 years old, Teen magazine, being my favourite then, and envy those Mat Salleh teens wearing their bikinis. When I went to Aust for my studies, I window shopped for bikinis, but never had the courage to buy any. All I ever did when lazing by the beach, was wearing a one piece instead of a 2 piece! And when I came back to M'sia, I continued flipping through foreign mags - it was not only when I went for my Maldives trip that I bought my 1st bikini! And I have never stopped buying after that. I own a few now, but I wished I have the killer body to wear those Brazilian bikinis. Nevermind that I can't swim.

I have now started to buy swimwears for my daughter, but the problem with M'sia is that there are not that many nice looking swimwear for kids. The ones being sold here are mainly very average looking.
Recently, I managed to get to know this swimwear manufacturer who supplies to only Australia & Bali. These swimwears are really to die for, be it for the kids or for the adults. See above for 2 of the swimwear which are my personal favourite.

Notes about me

I was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu. I left home after my SPM and has now made KL my 2nd home.

I am a working mother to a cheeky 3 year old and a wife to a hard core MU supporter.

I am a Buddhist, but have always dreamt of a church wedding since young - my dream came true when I got married :)

I was once a party queen, who could never sit at home doing nothing on Friday & Sat nites.
Viva, Flams, Finnegans, Nuovo and a few others used to be my hang out place. Now, I would be lucky if I get to go for my manicure, or even sleep past 8am!

I can't drink much alcohol. I love shopping, travelling, reading and lazing around.

I LOVE food!

Greece and Egypt top my list of future travel destinations. I would also like to visit all the Disneylands around the world :)

I LOVE BIKINIS! Bikinis for both adults and kids! Simply adore them.

My hopes and wishes ? To live life to the fullest, with no regrets; to grow old gracefully with dearest hubby; and to see Tania grow up.
